2016 Seed Swap and Giveaway

1-4:00 pm, Sunday, January 31st

Gardeners and wanna-be gardeners: Start dreaming of spring! Thanks to a few generous people there will again be a wide selection with many varieties. Bring your own extras to give away.

Flowers! Vegetables! Herbs! Ornamentals! Edibles! Many are local saved seeds, non-gmo, heirloom and more. This was some of what was available in 2015: basil, beans, beets, borage, broccoli, calendula, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumber, dill, fennel, kale, lettuce, marigold, melons, nasturtium, nigella, onion, parsley, peas, peppers, poppies, pumpkins, radish, squash, sunflowers, swiss chard, tomatoes, and zinnias.

Last year people also brought houseplants, canna lily bulbs, garlic, horseradish, iris rhizomes and garden related items to share.

Don't have seeds to share? No problem! Bring something for the very informal soup/snack potluck or a non-perishable item for the North County Community Food Bank. Volunteers are also welcome to help set-up/clean-up. See you there!

Retiring Today!

Happy New Year Everyone! Today I am stepping down as the key keeper, treasurer and event coordinator. Join me in welcoming Sue Kvamme as Key Keeper and Kathie Malone as Treasurer for the VCC and the VHPS accounts.

Please consider donating, volunteering to coordinate, host, set up or clean up after an event in 2016. Or create your own NEW one that compliments the Historic Schoolhouse Mission Statement. If you are unsure about what to do, a list of key actions and instructions is available. I will be happy to mentor you thru the process as time permits.

Thanks for the memories! Here's to making new ones!
